Chemistry Constants

Frequently used constants for introductory chemistry calculations.

Amounts and gases

Avogadro constant Nₐ = 6.02214076 × 10²³ mol⁻¹ (exact). Ideal gas constant R = 8.314462618 J·mol⁻¹·K⁻¹, or approximately 0.082057 L·atm·mol⁻¹·K⁻¹.

Electrochemistry and heat

Faraday constant F ≈ 96485.33212 C·mol⁻¹. Standard atmosphere = 101325 Pa (exact). Specific heat of liquid water is approximately 4.184 J·g⁻¹·°C⁻¹ near room temperature.
